Tilda card

Well I hope that you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year. We're not New Year party people but always tune in to Jools' Hootenanny and raise a glass of fizzy stuff.

I thought I'd post another 'old' card and it's the first one I tried in this style after being inspired by the wonderful cards of Jacque Beddingfield whose blog I've been reading for over 12 months now. She really is a very talented lady and showcases some fabulous makes so if you haven't already seen her blog please check it out here  http://jacquesmagnolias.blogspot.com/

So here's my effort which I was quite pleased with until I realised that I'd used a sitting Tilda image. Maybe I should draw some lines in or something. Ah well, we learn by our mistakes!

PAMPERED PETS & ANOTHER CARD

Here they both are having a hard day!

PHOEBE, our miniature wire-haired dachshund. Sadly, about two years ago at the age of five, she went blind, almost overnight, due to SARD (sudden attack retinal detachment). However, she copes very well and has a good life as you can see.

MR GRIMSHAW, our lovely old gentleman from the cat rescue centre. He has owned us for eleven years and was around five when we got him.

From a while ago and I can't remember what the DPs were. MUM letters cut using the Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet. The silver circles were cut using a Marianne Creatables die and the Butterfly is a XCut Punch. Ribbon, flower and peel-off from stash.

A Lovely Surprise

I recently received a phone call from my local Lakeland store to say that I'd won a hamper in their prize draw. How lovely and all because I filled in a catalogue request form.  So here's my prize..

How lucky is that just before Christmas. We'll enjoy cracking it open when family come visiting.

This was made following instructions in one of the card magazines and used Kate Knight's Wild Blossoms DP by Dovecraft and a matching brad for the envelope. Card for base and matting from stash.

SNOW !!!

I know I said this was a card making blog but can't resist sharing these lovely snowy photos of our garden - even the brook is frozen!

It certainly looks very pretty but that's me talking from the comfort of indoors.  DH is the photographer of the family who decided to go out and brave the elements.

Dipping a toe into Blog Land

So this is Blog Land and here I am 'bravely' making my first post. After months and months of reading many wonderful blogs from some very talented cardmakers and crafters I have finally taken the plunge and decided to join in.  I certainly never thought that I would be blogging but I'd like to enter some card challenges and it seems easier to do this if you have a blog. I've always been a crafter but have had to give up on most crafts due to arthritic hands. I was pleased to discover card making a couple of years ago and although I'm slow, I'm happy!  Not sure how often I'll be posting - it won't be daily but hopefully at least once a week - luckily I've got some of my past creations photographed and ready to share although not all at once. I wouldn't want to scare you off before I've even started. Here's a couple of photos to begin with then.

The design papers are Henbury Lane Collection from Papermania, as is the lush felt butterfly. Craftworks card candy in lilac, ribbon and base/mirri card from stash. Square cut using Nestabilities Lacey Squares.
